Clarence G. Anderson at age 17 began his military on January 4,1864 in Bryan County, Ga. at Ft. McAllister.

On February 13, 1864, he was transferred to Co. K, 7th Regiment, Georgia Cavalry. In April he was detailed in the Signal Corps in Savannah. He served as telegraph and signal operator.

Pvt. Anderson was captured December 1864 and released after the close of the war.

There was another interesting piece of information in his military records.... Private C.G. Anderson surrendered June 13, 1865 in Washington, Ga. - Given in place of one lost.
