Pvt. J.J. Dugger of Bryan County, Georgia was with J.L. McAllister's Hardwick Mounted Rifles and was transferred to Company K, 7th Georgia Cavalry February 13, 1864.

He was still in Virginia when the war ended and served a great part of his service with the wagon train that carried supplies for the 7th.

At the time General Lee surrendered, Pvt. Dugger and the wagon train were a considerable distance from Appomattox resulting in him signing an Oath of Allegience some time later.
